Rolling out of Luang Prabang. (No, I’m not screaming). Our last day in Laos The curse of plastic. A rice whiskey still in Laos. Fermenting rice vats. Hey, don’t worry, it’s filtered. Leaving Laos, pretty easy. Ready to ride into Vietnam. Arriving at the Vietnam border… … and then waiting. The van crew – Liz, Tanya and Bom, driver and guide. Sheets of veneer (?) drying on the roadside. It went on for kilometers. The old and the new. Giant Budha at the summit of the Sapa Pass. View from our hotel in Sapa Downtown Sapa A village road. Soaking in the hot spring. Mong Phu, a 1500 year old village near Hanoi. They don’t call it Train Street for nothing. “Hmm, that’s close!”
Some beautiful photos. My favourites were 20, the terraced cultivation and 27, a gorgeous view of the mountains with the cabins. Wow!
Thanks, for all your kind words, Collette. Wow, you must have had a reading binge! It’s certainly been an extraordinary journey in the fullest meaning of that phrase, eye opening, heart rending, comical… and very educational. I’m so glad that you and others enjoy my ramblings.
